Kampala, May 30, 2024 – Great Rock Limited, Uganda’s premier gold investment facilitator, has been awarded a major mining concession in the Karamoja region, marking a significant expansion of its operations in the country’s mineral-rich northeast.

Key Details of the New Concession

The 500-hectare concession, granted by Uganda’s Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines (DGSM), is estimated to contain:

✔ Proven gold reserves of approximately 1.2 metric tons (38,500 troy ounces)
✔ Annual production capacity of 500kg (16,000 troy ounces)
✔ Projected lifespan of 8-10 years based on current estimates

The development of this new site is expected to:

• Generate 300+ indirect employment opportunities in support services
• Contribute $15-20 million annually to Uganda’s export earnings
